Where the mountains meet the sky
The Broken Arrow 46K covers a world-class loop (twice!) that showcases some of Palisade Tahoe's most famous terrain. From the valley floor at 6,200 feet, runners will ascend nearly 5,300 feet as they circumnavigate the heralded terrain of North America's most rugged and extreme ski resort.

The 18k is not a watered-down version of the 23k but a true, stand-alone challenge. For those who may have run the VK or 11k in the past, it is an opportunity to "level up" before tackling our longer distances. With nearly 3,800 feet of climbing over a mere 11 miles, this will test even the heartiest of trail runners.
The Broken Arrow is all about community, both elites and recreational runners, and as such we want to celebrate runners of all types. Accordingly, in 2018 we added our 11K. While our other distances are challenging, mountain running events, the 11K is a gateway drug to those longer and harder distances.
The Ascent covers some of Palisade Tahoe's most iconic terrain in a short, steep, and physically demanding sprint. From the valley floor, runners will ascend over 3,000 feet in a mere 3 miles to the summit of 9,000-foot Washeshu Peak. In true Broken Arrow fashion, the course begins on steep terrain, ascends technical off-trail talus, and finishes on an exposed ridge line.
Trail Futures NTN, the Eagle, covers a world-class loop that showcases some of Palisades Tahoe's most famous and technical terrain. From the valley floor at 6,200 feet, runners will ascend nearly 2,200 feet as they circumnavigate the heralded terrain of North America's most rugged and extreme ski resort.
The Kestrel, designed for runners between the ages of 10 and 13 (ages on race day), remains largely on the lower mountain at Palisades Tahoe. It covers a world-class loop that showcases some of the fastest and most scenic singletrack in the area. From the valley floor at 6,200 feet, runners will ascend approximately 1,400 feet.
We're excited to welcome future trail and ultra runners to a fun and festive kid's event at Palisades Tahoe. The Kid's Race is ALWAYS the highlight of the weekend and not to be missed! Our Kid's Race is designed for the youngest up and coming trail youngsters, specifically ages under 10.
A unique and unforgettable mountain running event, the Iron Face Challenge travels 5.75-miles and climbs approximately 2,000 vertical feet. From the valley floor, it traverses and climbs the most extreme terrain at Palisades Tahoe and is the first event of its kind in North America.
